Ministry
Overview
People
who might benefit from a recovery ministry are: What
do people need to bring to the table: In order to honor this group, we will need to leave judgment, and gossip at home. This needs to be a safe place. Matthew 7:1 (NKJV) "Judge not, that you be not judged". Note: The Church has been in great denial about the need for recovery beyond the alter call. people in the church community that feel the call to minister to the lost have a need to practice biblical recovery principles themselves, before they will be able to transmit God's recovery program. (It is not impossible but more difficult to transmit something they do not have) Rev. 12:11 (NKJV) And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony and they did not love their lives to the death. What
does the evening LOOK like? Note: All together, the meeting will take 90 minutes. Our basic text will be book of James. We will also use other recovery-oriented material, i.e. 12 step Christianity, the AA Big Book, as well as others. |
